Hi, I'm Arun.

As a designer who also codes, I started out curious about why some apps feel effortless and others make you feel slow. That curiosity turned into a practice: sit with the problem, talk to the people who live with it, sketch badly and quickly, then refine until nothing extra remains.

Most of my work lives in Figma and in the browser, but the real work happens before either, in notes, conversations and wrong turns. AI now sits in my daily workflow: it speeds up the making, while I keep the judgement.

Selected work. Three beginnings.

Self-initiated. Questions I asked myself.

Projects I started without a client, to practise research, systems and testing in the open.

Confidential work. Described, not shown.

Some of my most complex work lives behind a login or an internal network. Screenshots stay private, but I can walk you through the thinking in an interview.

My contribution
  • Redesigned complex forms and workflows
  • Improved information hierarchy and navigation
  • Created responsive interfaces
  • Designed validation and error-handling states
  • Worked closely with developers to implement designs
  • Conducted usability and functional testing
  • Maintained consistency across existing modules

Digital Signing Platform for Government Documents

A web platform for electronically signing official documents, used by government employees and approving officers to complete approvals securely without paper.

My contribution
  • Redesigned the document upload, review and signing flow so each step was clear and hard to get wrong
  • Designed status, confirmation and error states so users always knew whether a document was pending, signed or failed
  • Built responsive front-end screens and worked with developers to implement them in the existing application
  • Tested the signing workflow with functional and usability checks and fixed issues found before release

Note: Screenshots and implementation details are not publicly available due to confidentiality restrictions.

Provident Fund Monitoring System for Aided Institutions

A web application for tracking provident fund records and compliance across government-aided institutions, used by institution staff and administrative officers.

My contribution
  • Designed dashboards and record views so officers could track institution-wise PF status at a glance
  • Simplified data-entry forms with clear validation and error states to reduce submission mistakes
  • Built responsive front-end screens and worked with developers to implement them consistently
  • Tested workflows with functional and usability checks before release

Note: Screenshots and implementation details are not publicly available due to confidentiality restrictions.

From question to shipped interface.

Things I changed my mind about.

Users need more features. They needed fewer decisions per screen.
Clean means empty.Clean means everything visible has a job.
My instinct was enough. My instinct was a hypothesis. Five conversations proved half of it wrong.
    Rejected: a gamified progress ring.
Testers read it as a score and felt judged.
    Rejected: a chat-only interface.
Hide the options people didn't know they had.
    Rejected: a four-step wizard.
Two steps with better defaults did the same job.

About me: think first, pixels later.

Five beliefs I carry into every project.

Start with the problem, not the interface.
Make complexity visible before simplifying it.
Design for the person, not the perfect user.
Every pixel should have a reason.
Good interaction feels obvious in hindsight.
AI speeds up the making. Judgement stays human.

I'm a UI/UX designer and front-end developer with hands-on experience across education, government and hiring products. I design the experience and help build it, which keeps decisions honest from sketch to shipped code, and I use AI to explore faster without handing it the thinking. I like messy briefs, because that's where design earns its keep.

    Small experiments. Big questions.

    Unfinished on purpose. Poke them.

What if a switch could feel physical?
Can data say hello before it explains itself?
    ?
Do interfaces need to be followed to be understood?

Built in public. Shared with others.
